TECH BOOKS (“we”, “us”) operates TECH BOOKS (the “Site”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how it is handled, in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Information we collect
- Order information: the email address and phone number you provide at checkout, so your purchase can be delivered and, if needed, followed up on.
- Payment information: payments are processed entirely by Cashfree Payments. We never see or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank credentials — we only receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded.
- Usage data: if analytics is enabled, standard event data (page views, product views, checkout starts, completed purchases) via Meta Pixel, used to understand which pages and products perform, and never sold to third parties.
How we use your information
- To deliver the PDF(s) or bundle you purchased, by email.
- To respond to support requests (e.g. resending an expired download link).
- To detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transactions.
- To measure and improve the site (only if analytics is enabled).
Who we share data with
We share the minimum necessary data with: Cashfree Payments (to process your payment), our email delivery provider (to send your download link), and Meta (only for pixel-based analytics, if enabled). We do not sell personal data.
Where the Meta Pixel is enabled, we also use Meta’s “advanced matching” so a purchase can be attributed to the advertisement it came from. Your email address and phone number are converted to an irreversible cryptographic hash (SHA-256) inside your own browser before anything is sent — Meta receives only that hash, never your actual email address or phone number, and it cannot be turned back into them. If you would rather this did not happen at all, block the Meta Pixel using your browser’s tracker or ad-blocking settings; checkout and delivery work normally without it.
Data retention
Order records (email, phone, order id, purchased product) are retained as long as needed to honor download access, support requests, and applicable tax/accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@techbooks.shop. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Cookies and tracking
The Site uses only the cookies/trackers necessary for checkout and, if enabled, the Meta Pixel for conversion analytics. Blocking the Meta Pixel in your browser does not affect your ability to buy or download anything.
